Drink at The Ship Inn
Our bar stocks an extensive selection of beer, ciders & wines, along with real ales from three local breweries and guest ales that change weekly.
Recent guest ales have included the likes of Bass, Black Sheep, Spitfire, London Pride and Timothy Taylor Landlord, to name but a few.
Real Ale is a serious part of the pub and as such we hold an annual beer & cider festival, showcasing twelve ales & eight traditional ciders. In addition to that, there’s a big BBQ and live bands playing on a specially built stage in the garden, making this event a highlight of the year.
With such a selection of beer and cider The Ship Inn has been awarded Heart of Wessex CAMRA Pub of the Year 2016 & is featured in both The Good Pub Guide and The Good Beer Guide.
Beers currently on the pumps:
Sharps "Rising Tide" - 4.2% - Malty flavour, light nutty and caramel, grassy hops at the end
Adnams "Southwold Bitter" - 3.7% - Floral hop and caramel malt aroma, dry citrus flavour, malty backbone
Otter's "Otter Amber" - 4.0% - Bitter flavour, hints of tropical fruit & spice
Wine is also something of a passion and with thirteen wines by the glass, we’ve got everything from crisp refreshing whites, sultry pinks to juicy reds by the bottle or glass. We offer an interesting and varied wine list ranging from the well-known classic French wines, through to the ever popular New World wines. To view our current wine list please click here.
The bar area has two sections - The Main Bar with a traditional flagstone floor, low ceiling and roaring log fire in winter and the Lounge Bar, which is light and airy with stripped oak floorboards and chunky farmhouse furniture. Being a country pub, muddy boots and good natured dogs are welcome in the bar, as are extremely well behaved children in the lounge bar or restaurant.
